MAVTV Acquired and to be Rebranded as RACER TV

 

RACER has announced that it has acquired MAVTV. Currently available on over 350 million devices worldwide, MAVTV has been home to a handful of automotive features including perennial favorite Stacy David’s GearZ. With this new partnership, the TV network and recently-launched app will combine to broadcast 300+ live races in 2025, along with race highlight shows, racing talk shows and additional racing programming, car collecting auction and build shows, automotive documentaries and lifestyle series, which aligns with RACER’s expansion into the motorsports-adjacent sectors of performance automotive, car culture, car collecting and off-road. In addition to its title publication, RACER also publishes Vintage Motorsport Magazine.

Bonhams F1 Miami Auction This Weekend

 

Bonhams Formula 1 Auction event takes place this Saturday, May 3rd at the Miami International Autodrome at Hard Rock Stadium during South Florida’s Motorsports Weekend. Featured vehicles include: the 2009 Brawn BGP001 Formula 1 Single Seater Chassis no. 001, a 2022 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4, the first publicly offered Porsche 911 Classic Turbo Reimagined by Singer and a ton of rare and interesting racing memorabilia.

A New Event Is Coming to Monterey Car Week in 2025

 

International Car Week, who are the current custodians of Concorso Italiano, have announced an extension to the event called The Paddock. Also taking place at the Bayonet and Black Horse Golf Course, The Paddock is an exclusive, high-end automotive event that brings together a curated collection of vintage, classic, exotic, and race & rally vehicles for an unforgettable display of automotive artistry. The show aims to attract the world’s top car collectors, enthusiasts, and industry leaders to celebrate the passion for luxury cars. The inaugural event is scheduled for August 15, 2025

The Petersen is Heading to the UK

 

Running concurrently with the Goodwood Revival, The Petersen Museum has announced a 9-day rally event across Britian’s historical automotive landscape. The trip offers behind-the-scenes tours of legendary factories, tours of important car collections and includes a track day event.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s President Resigns

 

Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) Museum President Joe Hale is stepping down from the position effective June 20, after serving in the role for nearly five years. Hale became president of the museum in January 2021 and led the successful $69 million capital campaign and oversaw the museum’s first major renovation in 40 years. Kirk Hendrix, a current board member, has been named interim president by the board of directors while the museum conducts a nationwide search for a permanent replacement.
